Official Contest Rules and Information
Contest Overview
Timeline:
Contest Opens: December 1st, 2025
Contest Closes: December 25th, 2025 at game closing
Results Announced: January 5th, 2026
Description:
Participants must build a parade float utilizing the Gingerbread items to create your build. Any type of furniture is allowed for decoration, but there must be a primary emphasis on the use of the gingerbread item collection.
This competition is to be completed individually. No players may work together to build any part of a float. The room must be owned by the player submitting the entry.
Categories of Entry:
All players will fall within one of the three categories at the conclusion of judging.
Participator: anyone who submits an entry into the competition. All players will receive a participation package for submitting an entry that follows the rules and entry requirements.
Parade Participant: The top 20 floats will appear in an Official VMKL Player Parade in January. They will receive recognition in the parade. These players will also receive a participation prize package.
Contest Winners: The top 5 entries* will be considered the winners of the contest. They will receive the participation prize package and an additional winning prize package.
*If there are more than 50 entries, the number of winners will scale to be 10% of the total participants.
Rules
- Only one entry per person. You may not build an additional entry on a clone. You must build in one room only.
- Entries must follow the theme and remain appropriate. Any rooms that are deemed inappropriate will be disqualified and face disciplinary action.
- Your entry must show clear effort. Entries with minimal furniture or clear lack of effort will be subject to disqualification.
- You may not share images or screenshots of your float entry. Sharing your entry publicly may result in disqualification.
- Your float must be built only by you. You cannot request help from others in the building process.
- Your float must be built in an Empty Dark Ride Room.
- The base (bottom most item) of the float must be “Block - Black” any other items that are placed on the floor of your guest room will disqualify your float for entry. All items must be placed on top of a “Block - Black” item.
- Wheels are not needed for this contest. The only item that touches the floor of your guest room must be the “Block - Black” item.
- VMKL Staff reserve the right to disqualify any entry and remove prizes from players for any other form of cheating or abuse that is not specified in the rules.
Your float must follow the parameters listed below:
- At minimum, your float must be built upon a total of 32 “Block - Black” items. The configuration for these is up to the discretion of the player, as long as they follow the other parameters below.
- The smallest float must be no smaller than 2 x 2. The largest float must be no larger than 15 x 7.
- You may have a maximum of 3 total floats within the maximum space allowed.
- All floats must fit within a 15 x 7 grid space. If you have more than one float, it must not extend out in either direction past a 15 x 7 grid. For example, if you have two floats that are 5 x 4 and 6 x 4 respectively, they cannot span a length larger than 15 x 7, and must overlap to fit within the overall maximum length of 7 units in width (see picture examples at the bottom of the page for reference).
- The length of your float must go from the top left to the bottom right of the room and the width must go from bottom left to top right of the room (see image examples at the bottom of the page for reference).

Entry Requirements
Your float build must be complete by game closing on December 25th, 2025.
Your guest room must be set to private. Setting your entry to be viewable by others may result in disqualification.
Your room will be captured for judging purposes after it is named in the format below. Please title your entry the name below when your building is fully complete:
Gingerbread Float 2025Room descriptions are optional, but encouraged. They will be provided during judging and can help provide further context to your build.
A judging flag will be placed in your room once it has been accepted for entry and captured for judging. Please do not remove the flag or edit any part of the room once the judging flag has been placed. You may edit or clear the furniture in your entry once the winners have been announced.
Judging
Entries will be judged based on the following criteria:
- Creativity of design
- Use of gingerbread items
- Use of float space
Judging Process
All entries will be presented anonymously to the VMKL Staff team. They will rate each build based on the above criteria.
Prizes
Prizes will be distributed based on the categories presented at the beginning of this page.
Participator:
Any player who enters the contest and abides by the rules and entry requirements will receive the following prizes:
- Gingerbread Beanie
- Gingerbread Winter Jacket
- 5,000 Credits

Parade Participant:
Any player that qualifies for the top twenty will receive the above prizes and these additional prizes:
- Haunted Mansion Conservatory Holiday Edition Room Key
- Entry will be a part of the Official VMKL Player Parade in January
- 5,000 Credits (10,000 total credits)

Contest Winners:
Any player that qualifies for the top five will receive the above prizes and these additional prizes:
- Gingerbread Winner Pin
- Haunted Mansion Conservatory Holiday Edition (1 room and 1 room key total)
- Black Winter Beanie
- Black Winter Jacket
- 4 x Black Gumdrop
- 10,000 Credits (20,000 total credits)

Float Build Examples
Please note: The example images below utilize “Block - White” for visibility purposes. You MUST use “Block - Black” for your base when building your entry.
These are just EXAMPLES. You may create your own float structure and layout, as long as it follows the rules.
Acceptable:
This is the minimum amount of blocks required in one configuration (32 blocks total).
Acceptable:
This is the maximum total amount of space you may utilize. Your float may be this size, but this is also the amount of space you have to fit ALL floats, regardless of their size.
Acceptable:
This is an example of an acceptable float. The total used space for this float is 13 x 6.
Acceptable:
This is an example of an acceptable float. The total used space for this float is 15 x 7.
Acceptable:
This is an example of an acceptable float. The total used space for this float is 15 x 4.
Unacceptable:
This is an example of an unacceptable entry. The length of your float must go from the top left to the bottom right and the width must go from bottom left to top right.
Unacceptable:
This is an example of an unacceptable entry. You cannot have any float be smaller than 2 x 2. The red section is 1 x 4.
