The Path to Imagineering
It’s time to flex your creative muscles and become a game building master this month! Players that are up for the challenge will be provided a pre-built game board. Throughout the month, you will be presented with 12 tasks to complete by adding on game mechanics and rules to the pre-built game board. The tasks include: building small scenes, creating innovative gameplay, making up special rules, and more!
How to Enter
- Enter an “Empty Dark Ride Room” that you own and send a Call For Help with the following: “I would like to become an Imagineer and build my very own game in this room.”
- All furniture already in that room will be cleared to load in your gameboard. Pick a room that is empty or you do not mind the furniture being cleared from.
- Once your Call For Help is closed by staff, your Empty Dark Ride Room will be filled with a copy of the board game shown below:
You are now officially entered and ready to take on the tasks throughout the month.
Rules
- Three tasks will be available each week, starting on the Monday of that week. All 12 tasks must be completed by game closing on August 31st. Edited during Week 4 (08/25/25): if you need additional time past August 31st to complete all of the tasks please send a Call For Help.
- Tasks DO NOT need to be completed by the end of the week that they are announced, they just need to be completed by the end of the entire challenge.
- Tasks are shown as completed either by what is built in the room or through the final submission of the gameplay rules to show each task was incorporated into the overall game.
- Final submissions will be accepted the final week of the month. More information on how to submit will be presented during Week 4.
- Similar ideas for gameplay are expected for some tasks. If there is a consistent pattern of direct recreation of gameplay rules or building ideas from player to player, this may result in disqualification.
- The items (from the pre-built gameboard that is placed in your room) belong to staff members. If you choose to remove any of the furniture, they will not be able to be recovered.
- The black and white tiles and finish line tiles must stay in the room (cannot be stored). They must stay in the same path that is already set up.
- If you choose to remove grass or flat items to build for tasks, it is your responsibility to make sure the areas are filled in with other items.
Prizes
Players who complete all twelve tasks will receive the following:
- 1 x WDI Hi-Vis Safety Vest
- 5,000 credits

Not Feeling Ready?
For players who may not feel qualified to be an Imagineer, fret not! Each Monday, when the new set of tasks are announced, the HOST event that evening will be the board game including gameplay that aligns with all of the tasks for that week and previous weeks!
- Week 1 Event will include Tasks 1-3 in the gameplay.
- Week 2 Event will include Tasks 1-6 in the gameplay.
- Week 3 Event will include Tasks 1-9 in the gameplay.
- Week 4 Event will include Tasks 1-12 in the gameplay.
Each iteration of the event will look completely different, but still incorporate all of the tasks. We hope that this will give all of our players that participate some good ideas on how they can set up their game!
This event is also unique in that we encourage you to share your board games throughout the month! As you continue to develop your gameplay, have friends come test out your event. We hope their feedback will inspire you to come up with even more creative ways to play your game. Please be wary of directly copying multiple ideas from a friend, as this may result in disqualification.
