We are proud to announce that VMK Legacy has a new look! She doesn’t look a day over 3! Get it? — anyways…
With the coming of our game’s anniversary comes the opportunity to zero in on what is representative of our ongoing vision. Our previous branding was meant to convey some familiarity & connection to the roots of our project known as NETCOT. We are confident in saying that the past year has really affirmed our dedication to continuing the ‘Legacy’ of VMK, which is why it was time for a change!
Here at VMK Legacy we try our best to facilitate a similar (yet enhanced) experience to that of the original VMK. That kind of mission inspired us to revisit the VMK ‘castle logo’ to think of ways that we could honor the past while still conveying our desire to grow where we can. Do you recognize the not-so-new castle? If you guessed our very own Disneyland Paris’ Castle (featured IN game!) then you are correct!
While we have already begun getting all our ducks in a row, we will be slowly swapping out our branding to the new ones: so please… pardon our pixie dust! If you see the original VMK castle logo anywhere, rest assured: it will be updated!
New basics alert! Joggers have now been added to the permanent Bottoms shop! Express yourself in any color!
GET_Togethers are events that are hosted in our Discord server by the Guest Experience Team. These events may be anything from puzzles to word searches to scavenger hunts and will take place a minimum of twice per month. GET_Togethers are a way for us to come together and have some fun with the community, and that’s not all! You, the community, will have a part in deciding our activities! Either a Discord announcement or a newsletter will contain a link to a survey that every player can participate in to choose either the activity, the theme of the activity, or the materials for the upcoming month’s activity. Each player that completes the survey will receive 2000 credits, regardless of if they attend the events that month or not. Attending the event for the required time frames as outlined at the time of the event will result in a special prize which will only be available for that month.
The voting form for August’s GET_Together events is now open! Votes must be submitted by Saturday, August 5th after closing.

The VMK Legacy Staff Team is looking for qualified applicants to join our team! At this time, we are searching for applicants for the following positions:
🖌️ Digital Artist – responsible for creating new in-game content including clothing, furniture, and pins
🎢 HOST – responsible for in-game events, including room creation and event supervision
💻 Game or Web Development – responsible for coding new in-game features and website content
📰 Graphic Design – responsible for graphical content related to branding of the game
📝 Public Relations – responsible for social media and writing publications used to promote the game
✨ Guest Experience Team – responsible for moderation of the game and Discord

Here at VMK Legacy, we continually strive to mix our own passions for VMK and work to honor the OG game by creating content that we think would fit within the scope of the game’s origins. We also try our best to recognize that we will continually work towards the heights of the OG game, but the reality of our situation is something we keep in mind while producing VMKL.
As VMK stood, it was a gathering place for thousands of players around the world, with paid full time staff to moderate, maintain, and update the game. We at VMK Legacy are a group of passionate volunteers serving a small community of passionate players. Our small team dedicates countless hours of free time to produce new content each month, creating new and exciting items, events, and connections with the community. While our team members are able to volunteer an uncountable amount of time, we understand that this is not applicable to individuals who may want to contribute to the progression of the game but do not have countless hours available. With a recognition of our differences from the original game, we realize we need to change some aspects from the original to better fit the needs of our community while still working to honor the roots of the game. We have spent months curating the perfect use of a staple VMK program that was well loved by players, and we hope our new use of the program will live up to the legacy of its predecessor.
To honor a unique aspect of the original game that will also help serve needs found within our team, we are launching a program akin to the Community Leader (CL) program. Our small community is full of many leaders bringing help and kindness to new and old players alike. Our wonderful playerbase makes the need for the CL program as it existed not necessary for our game. Instead, we want to flip the script of the program to better suit the needs of our community and honor the legacy of the Community Leaders initiative at the same time. We proudly introduce to our guests the Legacy Contributor (LC) Program!
This new program will allow players to contribute in more meaningful and tangible ways to the progression and production of new game content. The program allows players to have the flexibility of contributing on their own time without the additional responsibilities that come with being a staff member. All LC program participants will continue to be regular players and receive no special benefits or staff privileges through their participation in the program.
To start, our Legacy Contributor Program will be looking for guests with skills in Digital Art and Graphic Design. The program will allow for LC members to submit their art and designs to be considered for use in-game and in the community. We realize there are many players who have significant nostalgia related to the CL program, so we plan to expand the scope of our LC program to allow for players to contribute in ways that do not require digital art or graphic design skills in the future.
Individuals who are interested in applying for the Legacy Contributor role must meet the following criteria:
- Must be active within the community within the past two months. To be an active player, you must be showing activity a couple days each week over a two month period.
- Have the ability to take feedback and understand that submitted art may not be utilized in the way it was intended to be used upon submitting to the VMKL team.
- Understand that submitting art as a Legacy Contributor will give the VMK Legacy team the right to utilize, distribute, alter, or publish the art in any way they see fit.
The following criteria is preferred for those interested in the Legacy Contributor Program, but not required:
- Ability to successfully design in a way that honors the OG VMK art style
- Preferred to see individuals who understand and use isometric perspective in designs
Players who are accepted to become a Legacy Contributor will receive the following:
- The LC_ prefix added to their player account
- The Legacy Contributor Badge (Sorcerer Mickey Hat)
- Additional perks for the program will be announced after an initial assessment of player interest in participating in the program is accomplished. The announcement of additional perks will be shared before any players are formally accepted into the Legacy Contributor role.
