WOW! What a festival am I right? To think... it all started with a mou- er... I mean, to think it all started back in July with a triple celebration! What was your favorite memory of this festival? Mine was seeing everyone's reaction to our most dynamic parade yet with the return of 'Legacy on Parade!'
Though I have to say, I've really enjoyed seeing all the guest participation in all our different building related activities this month! August (dubbed as the CREATE! portion of the festival 😉) was meant to highlight the magic & fun that goes into creating something here on VMK Legacy. Much like Disney Imagineers in real life: it all begins with a spark!
We hope that a lot of these new releases will inspire guests to build more guest rooms to hang out in AND host games with new tools to imagine new kinds of games! We still have some fun headed your way as we come to a close on this festival and head into Off Season so keep on reading!
OH–I almost forgot to say: if you're feeling particularly inspired (& qualified) we'd love for any interested individuals to consider applying to join our team! Scroll on down towards the bottom of the newsletter for more information!

Join us as we continue to explore thrilling attractions at the Disney Parks to celebrate the Legacy of Storytelling! So much creativity & dedication goes into developing these attractions in real life and we wanted to highlight just a tiny bit of that by experiencing it virtually here on VMKL!
We hope you enjoyed the OG VMK recreation of Pirates of the Caribbean, Tiana's Bayou Adventure, Space Mountain and finally... the FIRST E-Ticket "Thrill Ride" at Disneyland: the Matterhorn Bobsleds!

We are pleased to present ‘The Key to Imagination!’ Throughout the rest of the festival, you have the opportunity to answer some fun trivia questions about the magic of Imagineering. How’s that for the legacy of storytelling?! Walt Disney Imagineering (WDI) has played a pivotal role in developing the attractions we have come to love at the various Disney parks. So much of the magic we experience at the parks are a direct result of the magic-like attention to detail that these skilled engineers and creatives put in. From sailing the seas on Pirates of the Caribbean to joyfully celebrating on Tiana’s Bayou Adventure: guests are whisked away from reality & dropped right into the story! Speaking of those two attractions… by now you’ve experienced our virtual recreation of those two rides through our E-Ticket Thrills Ride-A-Thon! “The Key to Imagination” is a companion activity to this event. In addition to the general imagineering questions, you’ll also be asked questions about the very ride you’re embarking on… so pay attention!
When the event starts: a google form will be posted for completion (& added to the event listing on our homepage for easy NON-DISCORD-ONLY access).The form will be available until the game closes tonight but the ride will only be available for the event time slot!
Your reward for answering all 10 questions correctly is a “E-Ticket Thrills" pin! There will be a total of FOUR Volumes (one for each E-Ticket Thrill!) and each will be run (2) times.
All guests who “unlock” the Key to Imagination (ha! Get it?!) by owning at least one of each “E-Ticket Thrill pin” will receive a special prize bundle!

It’s time to flex your creative muscles and become a game building master this month! Players that are up for the challenge will be provided a pre-built game board. Throughout the month, you will be presented with 12 tasks to complete by adding on game mechanics and rules to the pre-built game board. The tasks include: building small scenes, creating innovative gameplay, making up special rules, and more!

Legacy in Motion: A Ride Building Competition
We’re excited to announce a brand new ride competition celebrating VMK, creativity, and storytelling through ride design! This is a solo build challenge open to all players of any skill level! Participants will build a continuous ride across two rooms, no stops or ride restarts allowed.
The competition runs from August 1st through August 31st.
Entries will be judged in three skill-based tiers: Beginner, Intermediate, and Advanced.
How to Enter: To enter, you must read the official contest document and fill out the entry form to determine your skill level.
All the information you need, including the list of prizes and the link to the entry form, is in the document linked below.

The official launch of POTC means that the Bronze, Silver, & Gold chests have been updated with a brand new prize pool! We hope you enjoy the new loot and wish you luck! (In case you were wondering, YES, we do have plans to implement the SITS UI to the Treasure Chests. In the meantime, please continue to redeem your keys by equipping them onto your lanyard.)
The VMK Legacy Staff Team is looking for qualified applicants to join our team! At this time, we are searching for applicants for the positions in bold+underlined, however below is a description of all positions on the VMK Legacy staff team.
🖌️ Digital Artist – responsible for creating new in-game content including clothing, furniture, and pins
🎢 HOST – responsible for in-game events, including room creation and event supervision
💻 Game or Web Development – responsible for coding new in-game features and website content
📝 Public Relations – responsible for social media and writing publications used to promote the game
📰 Graphic Design – responsible for graphical content related to branding of the game (note: this role is under "PR" however if any interested applicants are specifically skilled in graphic design we would love for you to still apply!)
✨ Guest Experience Team – responsible for moderation of the game and Discord

VMK Legacy introduced 'The Legacy Contributor' program in efforts to give talented guests a way to contribute to the magic! We realize there are many players who have significant nostalgia related to the CL program, so we plan to expand the scope of our LC program to allow for players to contribute in ways that do not require digital art or graphic design skills in the future. At this time our program is not accepting applications as the program is being reimagined!
